Plot: 1919. In the wake of the Bolshevik Revolution and the Red Army invasion, the Greek communities of Odessa find themselves forced to flee to their homeland. But against the backdrop of extreme poverty and suffering, a miracle happens: a boy and a girl fall in love and summon up the courage to elope. And as they wander through the rugged Greek countryside, along with a group of travelling musicians, the turbulent history of Greece unfolds. Indeed, a curse seems to follow the young couple: before long, WWII breaks out, and then the Greek Civil War pits brothers against each other
