Plot: Mara is a new schoolteacher coming from Tuscany. Her arrival affects the inhabitants of the village: she is beautiful, alone and different. She begins a relationship with Hassan, a well-integrated Tunisian mechanic, but when Mara anticipates her departure for Brazil, everything changes. Giovanni is a late adolescent who wants became a journalist: he observes what happens in his small village and secretly writes for a local newspaper.
Alternative Plot: When a woman he once loved is murdered, a fledgling journalist investigates. When the prime suspect commits suicide, more questions come forth.
