Plot: Under the hot sun of a faceless and hectic city that is always under construction, utterly surrendered to perpetual traffic congestion, Stavros, the beloved son of the affluent Athenian belle, Maria, finds himself running from the police for a crime he didn't commit. Then, out of the blue, Anestis, the effortlessly handsome motorcyclist and distant relative of the opera diva, Maria Callas, comes to the rescue; an act of unexpected chivalry that will soon pave the way for a timid friendship and passionate love. And just like that, over the span of twenty-four restless hours, the trio of thrill-seekers will cross paths with the metropolis' lost souls and a vivid kaleidoscope of characters, including eccentric cab drivers, insecure sailors, dangerous terrorists, and distressed drag queens. Now, after so many years, Maria feels wanted, and Stavros seems unwilling to give his consent. However, does Maria need to ask his permission to feel whole again?
Alternative Plot: A prosperous widow (Irene Papas) with a gay son (Stratos Tzortzoglou) falls for a young gym instructor (Panos Mihalopoulos) in Athens.
