Plot: A devout Muslim and his wife flee their war-torn homeland. In the process, their lives become interlaced with that of former Serbian footballer Djordje. The families emigrate west to Vancouver, where they establish a new life.
Alternative Plot: A Serb family and a Muslim one, both living in Canada, clash over differences in their native Sarajevo.
