Plot: After journalist Mary Landers is assigned to write a Valentine's Day story about "The Meaning of Love," her long-time boyfriend breaks up with her, leaving Mary feeling that her life is boring and predictable. Riding the crowded train home, she locks eyes with photo journalist James Fielding but before they can speak, he exits and accidentally leaves his phone behind. Finding that phone changes her life and Mary discovers through James that life is an adventure, never knowing where it is going to lead. In writing the perfect love story, Mary finds herself, and realizes that love means opening your heart to any possibility, no matter how unexpected.
Alternative Plot: After being dumped by her fiance for not being adventurous enough, a woman (Amy Smart) sets out to prove him wrong by tracking down the handsome stranger (Adrian Grenier) she just met on the subway.
