Plot: In the aftermath of Operation Kalavryta, the horrendous Nazi atrocity in German-occupied Greece in 1943, Caroline Martin, an ambitious Berlin lawyer, goes to Kalavryta to further investigate the Greek government's multi-billion legal claim for war reparations. There, representing the German government, Caroline interviews Nikolas Andreou, an ailing octogenarian still haunted by the Massacre of Kalavryta, and unravels the sequence of nightmarish events that culminated in the destruction of an entire town
Alternative Plot: Told through flashbacks, an acclaimed writer recounts his childhood trauma during the Nazi invasion of Greece. A lawyer is assigned to handle a case on behalf of Germany and the two try to come to terms with a historical tragedy.
