Plot: Max Kirkpatrick is a cop who protects Kate McQuean, a civil law attorney, from a renegade KGB team out to terminate her.
Alternative Plot: Kate (Cindy Crawford) is going through a nasty divorce. When her ex-husband won't pay alimony, Kate investigates a freighter registered under his name in Florida. But what Kate doesn't know is that the freighter is the headquarters of Kazak (Steven Berkoff), a former KGB spy who now runs a global money laundering scheme. Once Kate discovers this, a police detective, Max Kirkpatrick (William Baldwin), is assigned to protect her. The two grow close as they try to evade Kazak and his men.
