Plot: Two painful decades after the brutal murder of two priests and a nun by the hand of Maria Rossi during the exorcism performed on her, Maria's daughter, Isabella, is still looking for answers. Intent on getting to the bottom of this tangled mystery, Isabella visits her glassy-eyed mother in Rome along with her cameraman, Michael, only to leave empty-handed, and shocked. Now, only two unconventional young priests, Fathers Ben Rawlings and David Keane, are willing to carry out the dangerous purification ritual; however, the unseen adversary is powerful, and he will put their faith to the test. Is Maria Rossi, indeed, suffering from mental illness or is the Devil inside her?
Alternative Plot: Twenty years after Maria Rossi (Suzan Crowley) murdered three people, her daughter, Isabella (Fernanda Andrade), seeks the truth about that terrible night. Isabella travels to an Italian hospital for the criminally insane -- where Maria is locked away -- to find out whether her mother is mentally ill or demonically possessed. With the help of two young exorcists (Simon Quarterman, Evan Helmuth), Isabella tries to cure Maria -- and engages four demons in a battle for her mother's soul.
