Plot: An American scientist is sent to Red China to steal the formula for a newly developed agricultural enzyme. What he is not told by his bosses is that a micro-sized bomb has been planted in his brain so that should the mission ever look likely to fail, he can be eliminated at the push of a button!
Alternative Plot: American scientist John Hathaway (Gregory Peck) goes to Communist China on a mission to steal a formula for an experimental agricultural enzyme with enormous practical benefits. Those in charge of the mission implant a microchip in his brain that will allow him to communicate with them. However, Hathaway is unaware that the device monitors his activities -- including playing ping-pong against the Chairman (Conrad Yama) -- and can be activated to kill him if his mission doesn't succeed.
